Playoff Tie Breakers

 

Playoff scenarios:

1) Each conference will have 6 playoff teams seeded 1-6.
2) Seeds 1 and 2 (Division winners) will receive a first round playoff bye.
3) Seeds 2-4 will represent the next best records regardless of division. This means that it is feasible for one division within a conference could have four teams and another with just two playoff teams.
4) During the wildcard round Seed 3 will be paired against seed 6 and seed 4 will be paired against seed  5.
5) In the next round the lowest seed left will face seed 1 and the next lowest seed will face seed 2. This means if seeds 3 and seeds 4 win. Then seed 4 will face seed 1 and seed 3 will face seed 2.   
6) Seeds 1-2 will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs unless they play each other in which case seed 1 will have the home game.
7)Seed 3 and seed 4 are guaranteed a first round home game. Seeds 5-6 will be on the road the entire playoffs.
