ALLIANCE NEWS AND NOTES!!
BULLS, GLADIATORS DOMINATE!!
FFA Games Of The Week Game 1
...The Magic City Bulls in a rematch of last years epic clash defeated the Bobcats in convincing fashion 27-7. The Bobcats were never in the game as the Bulls lead at half time 13-0. The Bulls first touchdown came on a 60 yard pass to Jonathan "The Show" Johnson. For the second week in a row the Bobcats high powered offense was held to just 7 points. The Bulls defense smothered the Bobcats offense until late in the fourth quarter when Harold "scoot" Davis cut loose for a long touchdown pass. The Bulls would add two more scores in the second half and go on to win 27-0. For the Bobcats it was another mistake filled game. The Bobcats were able to avoid mistakes last year when they won the championship. "We cant continue to play mistake filled football and hope to win in this league. Last year we were hungry and much more focused and some how we need to find a way to get back to that mind set if we hope to repeat"...said Head Coach Tim Caffey. While the Bulls are happy with this win they understand that they have a long way to go. "This was a very good win but we don't hang our hats on good wins we hang our hats on championships. We left allot on the table in this game and in order to win the championship we have to get much better."...said MCB Offensive Coordinator TJ Johnson. The Bulls will move on next week to host the Broward Bears while the Bobcats will go on the road to face the Muck City Starrs.
FFA Games Of The Week Game 2
...In this AFC West Divisional clash the Bradenton Gladiators faced off against their arch rivals the Sarasota Millionaires. The last time these two met in a meaningful game it was the Millionaires knocking of the Gladiators 7-6 in the first round of the playoffs. This game would be much different as the Gladiators dominated the Millionaires 42-6. The games was a defensive struggle for much of the first quarter when the Gladiators were on top 7-6. The Gladiators took a commanding 21-6 lead in the third quarter. The Millionaires were unable to move the ball on the Gladiators defense all game. The Gladiators would go on and wear down the stout Millionaires defense with long methodical second half drives. This was the third straight game the Gladiators offense was able put up 41+ points setting an FFA record for points scored in a three game stretch. This impressive streak has vaulted the Gladiators to the number one spot in the FFA's power poll. The Gladiators will now travel to St Petersburg, FL to take on the Sharks and the Millionaires will get a much needed bye to regroup.
