ALLIANCE NEWS AND NOTES!
New Champions to Join FFA’s Arms Race!
..The Bayarea Warriors are the latest league champions to leave their league and join the FFA with hopes of being the best of the best. The Warriors are the 2010 NIFL league champs. The Warriors based in Largo Florida joins a league filled with championship hardware. The road to the Alliance Bowl has just become much more difficult and the Warriors owner Louis Gracia says his team is up to the challenge. “We feel we can compete with anyone and we wanted to show everyone what Warrior football is all about. The FFA is hands down the most competitive league and we feel we not only can compete but we feel strongly that we can win it all”...Said Warriors owner Louis Garcia.
..In addition the FFA has added the Tampa Jets. The Tampa Jets are an upstart team with plans to bring stability to the Tampa area. There have been several failed attempts to have a quality team in Tampa with the exception of the Tampa Hurricanes. “We feel we have the right league backing us and this will be the foundation to attract quality players in the Tampa area. Our goal is to win a championship and we feel we can accomplish this in our first year”… said Jets GM Christian Davis.
..“In our extensive process of bringing in new teams, the FFA has found two teams who fit our need to strengthen the West Coast area and bring in professional organizations. The FFA has done our due diligence and we are aware of some issues that took place in a game involving the Warriors but we feel with the structure, guidance and leadership in the FFA we can help teams avoid these issues. The Warriors are committed to adhering to all the FFA Policies and standards. The FFA has a zero tolerance policy with regards to players’ behavior. We are excited about both our teams and we can’t wait to spend time with our new owners”...said FFA President Terrence Page Sr. Back to Work!!!
..The Florida Football Alliance (FFA) held its first owners meeting for the 2010-2011 season. Highlights of the meeting included voting in new members, reviewing the 2010 financial statements, approving the 2011 budget, learning the new NFL rules for the 2011 season and launching the new FFA Academy. ..The FFA Academy is an extension of the FFA’s resource center that teaches owners the art of running successful minor league football programs. The emphasis is having teams who excel at what the FFA considers keys for success using their knowledge to teach their fellow owners. The FFA is giving extensive training in areas like finance, community service, web site management, sponsorships, advertising and organizational structure. ..The Sarasota Millionaires who are beacons in their community taught an outstanding class on how to perform community service. Their approach is based on 275 ways to give back to the community. The owners were excited about the Millionaires professional presentation and the effectiveness of which their organization have been serving their community. ..The Miami Bulls facilitated a financial seminar that focused on budgeting, setting financial goals, and establishing realistic financial expectations. This was invaluable information for veteran and new team owners. New Team Announcements Coming Soon!!
...The Florida Football Alliance has added several new teams to the FFA family. However there will be no formal announcements at this time until the teams meet some additional requirements set by the owners. The FFA has made good on its promise to strengthen the west coast area...said FFA Commissioner Eddie L Starling. On a side note the FFA would like to thank the St Pete Sharks, Central Florida Tigers , Muck City Starrs and the Fort Myers Spartans for helping make the 2010 season a success. However these teams will not be joining us for the 2011 seasons.
..The Fort Myers Spartans and the Muck City Starrs are leaving in good standing. Coach Darby, owner of the Fort Myers Spartans will be taking an administrative role with the league. His position will be announced at a later date. The Muck City Starrs owner has faced some unfortunate personal difficulties that will require his full attention. It is the FFA's hope that those issues can be resolved in time for the 2011 season. The Starrs are currently targeting a strong return in 2012 and will still be considered members of the Florida Football Alliance.
..Orlando Rage owner Chris Morrison has been appointed as the FFA's new General Counsel. Chris brings a wealth of experience both in the legal realm and in Minor League Football. It was important for us to add someone who possesed the ability to lead bya example and have the expertise for the position. Who better to serve in that role than our very own Chris Morrison...Said FFA President Terrence Page Sr.
News Around The FFA 2010 FFA Champions!!
FROM NEAR DEFEAT TO THREE-PEAT RAGE WIN IN DRAMATIC FASHION!!
..For the second year in a row the Florida Football Alliance Bowl gave the fans their money's worth. The Orlando Rage scored 21 points in a three minute span to take the lead after being down 27-13 with 10 minutes left in the game. The Bulls seemed to be in full control until they began to self destruct with penalties and three shanked punts that gave the Rage great field position during that three minute span.
..The Rage's will to win showed as they tapped into their champion mentality and caused a key turnover and eventually took the lead with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter. The Bulls stormed right back and tied the score with 10.1 seconds left in the game. The Rage at that point still had the momentum and all they needed was the ball in over time. As fate would have it the Rage won the toss and continued their wildcat offense which allowed Levi Raines to score on one of the longest runs in FFA history!
..Now their will be a heated debate as to which Alliance Bowl is the greatest in the FFA's short history. You would have had to witness both games to even be in the conversation. Now one ever thought we would top Alliance Bowl II but thanks to the Rage's comeback we will now have to argue that Alliance Bowl III is the greatest FFA game of all time. #5 Levi" Make It" Raines and #5 Johnny " The Show Johnson" together help make Alliance Bowl III a perfect 10!!!
